As one of the favorite social tools, Snapchat had nearly 191 million daily active users in the first quarter of 2019. With so many users it’s no wonder that cyber criminals would like to gain access to your Snapchat account.
It’s not always a hacker who might have gotten access to your account though – sometimes you might just have lost your login credentials. But even in this case the guide will be helpful: Just take a look at (point two and three)
This is how to regain access to your Snapchat account
Your account got hacked and you can’t access it any longer? Then it all depends on the number of changes the hacker made to your account settings and your account data. The more changes that were applied, the harder it will be to regain access. From easy to hard – these are your possibilities to get your account back:
Change your password
It’s possible that the hacker already owns your login data. With this data, he obviously has direct access to your profile. Maybe he didn’t change your login data but nonetheless fiddled with your account. In such a case, log in to your account and make sure to change your Snapchat password. And yes, only use it for this one account – a password manager will help you keep track.
Use the function “Forgot my password”
Attackers don’t necessarily have to be the brightest people on earth and might have forgotten to change the email address that belongs to your account. They might have locked you out but you still have the possibility to test if you could regain your (new) login credentials via the function “Forgot my password”. You can find it on the login page of Snapchat. Once used, you will receive an email or a message to your mobile phone from Snapchat, including a temporary password. Use this password to log into your Snapchat account and change it immediately.
Contact Snapchat
The worst-case scenario: The hacker didn’t just change your password but also the email address, phone number, and all your contact data. In a case like that, you should visit Snapchat help page and fill in the form for an account recovery. You will have to add that your Snapchat account got hacked.
My account said it was locked then it was deleted and there is no trace of it. I didnt post or do anything wrong.
Hello Jake,

Now I’m struggling to login my snapchat account..
Need help,I don’t want to lose all of my foto’s
I deactivated my account and it won’t let me back in. It doesn’t recognize my user or password. how do I recover it. Is it possible?
Hi Christina,
did you try the function “Forgot my password”? With this you’ll receive an email with your username and a possibility to change your password = you might be able to log in again. If that doesn’t help please contact Snapchat as described in the article.
Best,
István
Someone changed my Snapchat password then deleted my account…
Hi Evelyn,
You might be lucky and the associated email address or phone number still might be the same. Reset your password once via phone number and if that doesn’t work use the email address you’ve used. To recover your account from deletion you “just” need to be able to login within 30 days after the deletion process started.
Good luck!
István
I deactivate my Snapchat I’m trying to reactivate it and it’s not recognizing my email address that I signed up with
Same I have tried everthing and nothing is working!

My account seems to have been completely deleted. My password doesn’t work, my phone and email say they’re wrong, and when I went to snapchat support they kept sending me links that opened a page that “doesn’t exist” so now what? I am getting severely annoyed by this entire thing
Hello Jake,

Please help! My Snapchat account has been hacked by a website and I am unable to log back in, I can’t even rest my password at all. I’ve tried everything to get my account back and snapchat hasn’t helped me either.
Hi Rebecca,
We’re afraid if the Snapchat support team can’t help you we can’t, too. :/

Hi again. I posted a comment in you other article. (3 signs…)
You told me to read this article but It doesn’t really work for me because I haven’t lost access to my account. Everything is normal. There is no unusual activity going on in my account.
The problem are just these emails I keep getting from Snapchat.
IS there anything else you suggest or any idea of why this is happening?
Thanks for your help!
Hi Mackenzie,
Have you already changed your password? And do you keep getting emails since then? If yes, you might also want to consider to change the password of your email account.
If you still receive such emails afterward contact Snapchat directly and tell them about your issue. Maybe they just have an issue ongoing right now.
Best,
István
